A new Multidenominational Gaelcholáiste for Ballymun

As there are large numbers of children progressing from local Irish-medium primary schools into post-primary education, a committee has been formed to campaign for the establishment of a new Irish-medium, multi-denominational, co-educational post-primary school to cater for Dublin’s Northside.

It is our intention that this school will have an emphasis on technology (including IT and traditional trade crafts), sport and culture (including art, music and drama), and excellence in teaching and learning.

We are asking parents to indicate, if such a new school was available, if they would be willing to send their children to it, to continue their education through Irish.

We are currently looking at a central location in Ballymun, accessible by bus from all seven existing gaelscoileanna in the Ballymun, Coolock, Finglas, Glasnevin, Cabra and Blanchardstown areas: Scoil an tSeachtar Laoch, Gaelscoil Uí Earcáin, Gaelscoil Cholmcille, Scoil Mobhí, Gaelscoil Bhaile Munna, Gaelscoil an Chuilinn and Gaelscoil Bharra.

Expression of Interest: Ballymun

Your expression of interest does not oblige you to enrol your child in the proposed school, nor does it guarantee your child a place in the school. The information you provide here will be shared with the prospective patron, An Foras Pátrúnachta, and with the Department of Education & Skills.
Please complete the form for any children in the family who are due to start post-primary school in 2019 or later.
