New Multidenominational Gaelscoil for North Dublin

Gaelscoil Bhréifne

The application made by An Foras Pátrúnachta for a new multidenominational Irish-medium school to serve the Marino/Drumcondra/Dublin 1 area (map) in September 2016 was rejected by the Minister for Education & Skills in his announcement re school patronage in May 2016. An appeal is underway and the Minister is due to make a statement on its outcome in June. Parents were asked to support the campaign by registering an expression of interest for children aged 0-5, who are not already attending another school, and they are still welcome to register their details with us so that they might be kept informed as to the outcome of the process. Information on the Department of Education & Skills process, as well as the Patronage Assessment Report for the area, is available on www.education.ie.

Parents have started a petition, for presentation to the Minister, to ask that he reverse his decision not to grant recognition to the proposed multidenominational Irish-medium school in September 2016. The petition has over 1,900 signatories to date, you can find it and add your comments here: The 733 Campaign
