BALLAGH TO JUDGE NCAD/GAELSCOILEANNA TEO DESIGN COMPETITION
It is with pleasure that GAELSCOILEANNA TEO announce a new joint venture with NCAD. The artist Robert Ballagh will act as a guest judge at a design competition organised jointly by GAELSCOILEANNA TEO. and NCAD; the winning design will be selected to act as a perpetual grand prix in the interschool talent competition Scléip! which is organised by GAELSCOILEANNA TEO on an Island wide basis.
The results of the competition will be announced at a special event to be held in NCAD, 100 Thomas, Dublin 8 at 6.30 on the second of November 2006.
NCAD students were invited to design a piece to be used as the perpetual grand prix which will be presented to the overall winner of Scléip! in April 2007. A panel of five judges including the famous Irish artist Robert Ballagh, will select the winner of the competition. A prize fund of €3000 will be presented to the winning designer to cover the production costs of the piece.
GAELSCOILEANNA TEO. is the coordinating body for Irish-medium schools. It helps parents and local groups to found new Irish-medium schools and assists schools already in existence. There are 163 schools at primary level and 38 schools at post-primary level which offer Irish-medium education outside the Gaeltacht regions.
