Irish language debating competition as part of Sinn Féin Ard Fheis

A debating competition for students will be held as part of the 2013 Sinn Féin Ard Fheis in Castlebar this Friday, 12 April.
Students are invited to prepare a speech up to 5 minutes long on any topic they please and to present their ideas to the public.
Liadh Ní Riada, Sinn Féin National Irish Language Officer said: ‘This unique event is being organised to support students around the country and to give them a platform to discuss the challenging obstacles in student life.’
A prize of €500, sponsored by Foras na Gaeilge and a voucher worth €200 sponsored by Gael Linn will be offered to the overall winner and the runner up will receive a voucher worth €200 and goodies from Conradh na Gaeilge.
TG4 presenter Páidí Ó Lionáird will host the competition and difficult decision will be made by guest judges Caitríona Ruane, MLA agus former Eduction Minister; Eoghan Mac Cormaic, Glór na nGael and Piaras Ó Rathallaigh, Mayo TV.
There is only one day left to register so if you would like to take part, make sure to contact liadh.niriada@sinnfein.ie. Contestants will meet at the Harlequin Hotel before 2pm and will be guided to the event from there.
