Daonscoil na Mumhan will take place in An Rinn Ó gCuanach  in Co. Waterford from Sunday 18th – Friday 23rd August 2013 Daonscoil na Mumhan is a week-long experience of lectures, fun and friendship through the Irish language.  Daonscoil na Mumhan  warmly welcome learners on the understanding that Gaeilge is the medium of the school. Help will be given to all who attend and also encouragement. This year’s theme: The influence of the Irish abroad Daonscoil na Mumhan is a week-long experience of lectures, fun and friendship through the Irish language. Many classes are organised throughout the week classes include sean-nós singing classes which will be conducted by the talented sean-nós singer Anne Mulqueen. Events include many interesting lectures, music and sean-nós sessions, céilí, hill walking, book launch, storytelling, day trips, poetry reading and workshop by the renowned poet Bríd Ní Mhóráin while Cuthbert Tura Arutura originally from Zimbabwe will conduct a sean-nós dancing workshop.   On Wednesday evening a talent competition titled ‘Comóradh an Dá Phádraig’ in memory of two great men Pádraig Ó Dálaigh agus Pádraig Ó hÍceadha who worked with Daonscoil na Mumhan for many years.  On Thursday 22nd August 'Leabhar Mór na nAmhrán' which was published by Cló ar-Chonnacht will be celebrated during the annual concert in Coláiste na Rinne This is a book for students, for singers and for anyone who would like to gain a wider understanding of traditional Irish singing. It contains over 400 traditional Irish sean-nós songs gathered from all over the country and many of these songs would have a certain connection with Rinn Ó gCuanach.
