Teelin summer college €1,000 scholarship competition giveaway

Coláiste Aoidh Mhic Bhricne in Teelin, southwest Donegal are giving away €1,000 worth of scholarships to secondary school students to attend their Gaeltacht summer courses this July. There are ten €100 scholarships to be won.

The scholarships are for Cúrsa B, which runs from 16th – 30th July. Cúrsa B (13-16 year olds) usually costs €495, the 10 winners can attend the course at a reduced rate of €395. The course caters for all junior and leaving certificate students who wish to improve their Irish in friendly, fun environment. The deadline for entries is Friday, 29th April.  Entries can be sent to colaisteaoidhteileann@gmail.com. The winners will be notified on Wednesday, 4th May.

We aim to provide an authentic, exhilarating Gaeltacht experience in Teelin, for young people across the province and the country.  These scholarships, thanks to Comhaltas Uladh, will help cover some of the costs associated with Gaeltacht courses. We focus on three things in Teelin; the Irish language, friendship and fun.”

“The scholarships will provide young people with an opportunity to learn and improve their Irish in the Gaeltacht. Students interested in Irish, will have a great experience in Teelin. Comhaltas Uladh commends Coláiste Aoidh Mhic Bhricne for their work in promoting the Irish language in the Gaeltacht. We wish their courses every success this year.”

Note: Comhaltas Uladh support Gaeltacht scholarships schemes in the north of Ireland. These 10 scholarships are available for students in Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth, which also comes under the Comhaltas Uladh region.

Background:  Coláiste Aoidh Mhic Bhricne is an Irish language summer college located in Teelin, South west Donegal, along the Wild Atlantic Way. The College was founded in 1955, and it celebrated 60 years established last summer. The college will run two courses this summer.
